The .Net Developer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and components; supports and/or installs software applications and components; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of process flow.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop and maintain high performance and scalable .NET applications
  • Lead software development projects that provide new or enhanced functionality for both internal and external customers
  • Design, code and test new Windows and web software applications
  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement
  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to Visual Studio, ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.NET
  • Work with the latest .NET technologies, including Legacy, MVC 3, WCF, ADO.NET and Entity Framework
  • Object-oriented programming and agile development
  • Create and deliver data-driven reports
  • Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects
  • Debug and support the operations team in troubleshooting user issues
  • Investigate and develop skills in new technologies
  • Create technical specifications and test plans
  • Create new and extend existing operational documentation
  • Maintain secure systems by following current HIPAA standards
  • Consult closely with management and occasionally agency staff related to projects and tasks
  • Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems
  • Implement new software

Job Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering OR equivalent years of work
  • 2 years development experience with .NET Framework, ASP.NET 4.0, MVC.NET, VB.NET, C# . NET, TSQL Server, jQuery, Knockout, CSS 3, and HTML
  • Advanced JavaScript application development
  • Database Development (Microsoft SQL Server 2008)
  • Experience with multiple programming languages such as C#, WPF, SQL
  • Experience with Portal and CMS platforms (e.g., SharePoint, DotNetNuke, Kentico)
  • Experience with using frameworks to create and test Data and Services/Business Layers.
  • Experience with Mobile Application development a plus not required (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7)
  • Experience in enterprise software using Object Oriented Development Practices, using n-tier design, and service-oriented architecture
  • Familiarity with design patterns
  • Experience with Build Automation Tools (e.g, Team City or TFS)
  • Experience with TFS or other source control systems
  • Experience developing rich user experience using web technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS, HTML, XML)
  • 3+ years of experience with ASP.NET using C# and MS SQL Server (SQL Server 2008)
  • A working understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems (2008) and IIS 7.0
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Stamina and tenacity to deliver great software solutions, with a deep sense of personal ownership and passion for working with all types of Software Developers and QA
  • Excellent Work ethic as well as an avid learner continually advancing your skills and challenging yourself

  • Healthcare experience a plus, but not required
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
